Without a valid skipper's license issued by the government or the Ministry of the Sea and a valid VHF license, it is not legally possible to sail in the territorial waters of Croatia.

Permits issued by sailing clubs, sailing schools or associations are not accepted.

According to Charter practice, sailboats must have hull insurance and third party liability insurance. All vessels should have the necessary equipment for safe navigation and safety equipment according to the size of the ship and the maximum number of people.

Client/user obligations in Charter

The client of Charter services must respect the following obligations:

SKILLS

Mandatory to have nautical and navigational skills to manage the ship (otherwise he is obliged to accept the service of the skipper of the charter company according to the valid price list)

PERMITS

It is mandatory to have all the necessary licenses to navigate the vessel

KEEPING

The ship must not be handed over to third parties

BUSINESS

It is not allowed to transport people or goods on board for commercial purposes

CREW

It is mandatory to have the exact number of people on board as stated in the crew list

RESPONSIBILITY

Accepts joint responsibility for all crew members

DOCUMENTATION

It is mandatory to have aboard the crew list with the confirmation of residence registration, together with the documentation of the ship for the entire duration of the lease

INFORMING

It is mandatory to inform the company about a possible change in the number of crew members or passengers

REGULATIONS

It is mandatory to comply with the legal regulations of the host country

COMPETITIONS

It is not allowed to participate in competitions and regattas without the consent of the charter company

CONTROL

It is mandatory to comply with the control intervals required for the duration of the charter

FEES

In the case of towing for rescue, the fee must be acknowledged before accepting assistance

PREVENTION

Obliged to take all preventive safety measures to keep the ship in good condition and to avoid towing the vessel

PORT

It is not allowed to leave the port if the predicted wind force is estimated to be stronger than legally prescribed, or if the harbor master has issued a ban on leaving the port

PLANNING

It is mandatory to carefully plan the sailing route, so that the ship could be about 40 nautical miles away from the charter base two days before arrival

NAVIGATION

It is mandatory to personally take on the responsibility not to sail at night without the consent of the charter company

LOCATION

It is mandatory to inform the head of the charter base about the exact location of the vessel in case of adverse weather conditions (stormy wind), in order to avoid an unnecessary and expensive search for the vessel

FISHING

It is not allowed to engage in fishing or any other underwater activity without a valid permit

LOAD

Depending on the weather conditions, it is mandatory to avoid unnecessary load on masts, sails and ropes

PETS

Pets (dogs, cats, birds, etc.) may not be taken on board unless approved by the charter company

SAILING ABROAD

To sail outside the territorial sea of the Republic of Croatia, you must check whether the vessel has the necessary permit. Please collect all the necessary information before sailing abroad.

Other nautical information

Depozit, dodatni troškovi, check-in/check-out

Deposit

Before taking over the vessel, the client is obliged to pay a certain deposit in the national currency (Euro) in cash or by credit card (depending on the conditions of the Charter company). After the end of the yacht charter, the entire deposit will be returned to the client, unless some damage or loss of equipment is found. In case of damage or loss, the charter company will take the appropriate amount from the deposit to cover the cost of repairs or to purchase damaged or lost equipment. Payment of the deposit is also mandatory in cases where the skipper of the charter company is hired. In this case, the deposit cannot be used to cover costs incurred due to the carelessness of the skipper, but only in case of poor handling of the ship or its equipment.

Check-in and Check-out

The usual Check-in and Check-out times, if they are standard Saturday-Saturday times, are:

• Check-in: Saturday, in the afternoon between approx. 16.00-20.00 h
• Check-out: Saturday, in the morning approx. 8.00-9.00 am

Please note: it is necessary to return to the base with the boat on Friday, by 17:00-18:00 unless otherwise stated.

In the case of a short rental period or a period with check-in and check-out that are not Saturdays, the charter company should determine the exact times.

Additional costs in the base

Additional costs incurred at the base during check-in depend on the individual charter company.

The following mandatory costs apply to everyone (payable in the database):

- Residence tax: approx. 1.40 EUR per person per day
- Deposit

Depending on the charter company itself, the following additional, mandatory costs may appear:
Final cleaning, (or / and) Permit (or / and) Transitlog, or in special cases there are some types of Charter packages that include several services in one price.

An outboard motor, spinnaker, gennaker, etc. are mostly included in additional equipment and are paid for (if desired) additionally.
